Established In 2016
Youth Initiative for Health &
Community Empowerment (YIHCOE)
We are a community-based, not-for-profit, registered organization that advocates for the health and social-oriented human rights of key populations.
We operate within the Greater Masaka region to increase accessibility to service delivery through raising awareness, sharing information, trainings, innovations, timely intervention, and partnerships aimed at addressing the social conditions that hinder the well-being of key populations. We are driven by a vision to see a community where all marginalized persons live healthy, positive, and sustainable lives.

To see a community where all key populations especially the transgender community live healthy, positive and sustainable lives.

Objectives
- To advocate for human rights, especially the right to health information, education, and full recognition of the marginalized communities in Uganda.
- To increase accessibility to service delivery with more emphasis on medical care rights.
- Create space for interaction of the members to be innovative in their work to improve the performance of the organization and its programs.
- To increase and develop a saving culture among the youth through saving and lending groups.
- To bring together every person of good will without any distinction so as to look for solutions to problems faced by the several members among the marginalized community or victims of all forms of discrimination.
- To explore opportunities that will be beneficial or improve the quality of their life especially ones that promote social economic cultural, gender education, health especially sexual health issues in the community.
- To facilitate and coordinate the access of proper medical intervention as well as ensure laws that is passed explicitly to protect the marginalized community from discrimination in health care units.
- To establish a drop in center where various forms of assistance and support are provided without any discrimination.
- To cooperate with other organizations with object of establishing a lasting relationship that will enable interdependent sharing of information and other opportunities as and when they arise.
- To identify professional counseling services including their partners and family members.
- To collaborate with any companies, institutions, societies or associations having objectives altogether or in part similar to those of the company.
